We started off by going to the weekly market, which was packed with locals and had this great buzzing atmosphere. Some of the American students were really into trying the local stuff they couldn’t get over how good the strawberries were and kept going back for more of the dried fruit. A bunch of us ended up grabbing lunch right there too, mostly going for either the Leberkäse (which was definitely an adventure for some!) or just playing it safe with burgers.
After we’d wandered around the market for a while, everyone kind of did their own thing. Some people got caught up shopping and were having a blast checking out all the little stores, while others were pretty beat and just wanted to chill back at the hotel. Then, of course, the weather decided to mess with our plans. The sky started looking pretty gray, and before we knew it, it was actually raining. We stood around for a bit trying to figure out what to do next, but most of the stuff we’d been thinking about doing was outdoor activities, so we just decided to head home for now.

Later that evening, we gathered to watch the DFB Cup final (in an exciting and eventful match, Stuttgart managed to surmount the seemingly impossible challenge of Arminia Bielefeld and secure their fourth DFB Cup victory). The professors provided drinks and some snacks, and we ordered pizzas because people were starting to get hungry. I don’t think most people were particularly engaged with the match itself, but it was a very fun evening, and I believe everyone had a great time.
Afterwards, we went clubbing at Fusion.
