The Big Case Reveal

Introducing viadee and the ECOnGOOD Challenge

During our Design Thinking Workshop, we collaborated closely with viadee, an IT consultancy based in Münster that specializes in digitalizing IT processes. viadee’s goal is not only efficiency and innovation but also significantly improving their sustainability practices, particularly their ECOnGOOD (Economy for the Common Good) score. This sustainability framework promotes ethical economic practices based on values such as human dignity, ecological responsibility, and transparency. Viadee presented its challenge through a Zoom meeting with our whole class.

Why ECOnGOOD Matters for viadee

Improving their ECOnGOOD score is critical for viadee due to upcoming regulatory requirements, specifically the Corporate Sustainable Reporting Directive (CSRD), which mandates detailed sustainability reporting for certain-sized companies. Besides regulatory compliance, viadee intrinsically values sustainability and ethical conduct, aligning their internal culture of fairness, trust, and humanity closely with ECOnGOOD’s principles.

We were particularly excited about this case, not only because sustainability and corporate responsibility are increasingly important topics but also because viadee is renowned locally as an innovative IT consultancy in Münster. As students in Information Systems, working with a respected company like viadee gave us the opportunity to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world practice.

The Challenge: Balancing Sustainability and Profitability

Our main objective was clear yet challenging: How can viadee enhance the ecological and social impact of their consulting services while maintaining profitability and efficiency, thereby improving their ECOnGOOD audit score for 2026?

Next, we set out to develop a structured plan for our Design Thinking Workshop to explore possible solutions to this challenge. Stay tuned for more on that in the next blog post!
